New world record for Screaming Eagle – Second Flight 2012

Results from the trading week at KL-Wines Wine Auctions on Tuesday 2022-08-02. One 750ml bottle of 2012 Screaming Eagle Second Flight, was auctioned for 781,00 €.

With many interested bidders the price rose until 781,00 € and reached a new wine maximum price. Since the last wine price on the 2022-07-19 at KL-Wines Wine Auctions with a fine wine price of 645,00 €  the current performance is at +21,09 % or 136,00 €.

KL-Wines Wine Auctions could still report more wine price records.

One wine bottle 2014 Chateau Lafite was auctioned for 679,00 € per 750 ml bottle. Thus the Lafite reached a price increase of +12,36 % or 74,70 €.

A 1990 Chateau Palmer in a 750 ml bottle, maintained with a fine wine price of 387,50 € and was able to set the third all time high price. This corresponds to a total appreciation of 75,00 € or +24,00 %.

A 750ml bottle of 2009 Chateau Montrose came up with a value of 385,00 € and set the last new record price. This corresponds to a total appreciation of 165,00 € or +75,00 %.

  • The average wine bottle price was 185,54 €.

During this fine wine auction the biggest percentage of the wines of 47,10 % came from the top wine region of US-California. 829 bottles from US-California were sold in this auction.

The wines from the winery Ridge Vineyard from US-California were most wanted. With a total of 4,15 % or 73 wine bottles it was set on the first place in popularity by wine lovers.

The most popular single wine was the 2014 Mano A Primitivo in a 750 ml wine bottle. With more than 0,68 % of the trade amount roundabout twelve wine bottles this wine was clearly the most popular wine. The most popular vintage at this long trading day was the 2016 vintage, with 147 bottles or 8,35 %, therefore the vintage got the first rank. The 750 ml size achieved 93,86 % or 1.652 wine bottles in this auction. Units of 3, were traded most.

The second place or a converted 300 bottles or 17,05 % of the offers came from Bordeaux.

In the ranking of most wanted wineries, the wines from the winery Sine Qua Non rewarded second place in popularity from the wine lovers with 46 traded bottles. The second best single wine was the 2017 Janasse Cotes du Rhone blanc in a 750 ml bottle.

The result was fixed with more than 0,68 % of the trade amount or a converted twelve bottles.

The third place in wine regions was awarded to Burgundy with 247 or 14,03 % of the total dealing volume. Third place in wineries, with 35 bottles was Realm, third place for single wines, with a total amount of twelve wine bottles was the 2015 Matrot - Bourgogne Blanc.

In the vintage ranking the 2015 reached the third place with an amount of 144 auctioned wine bottles. The single wine with the third highest wine auction price, was a Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon, 2019 vintage, with a price of 3.057,00 € for a single 750 ml bottle.

One of the least expensive wines was ranked third in the "more affordable wine price category". It went to a 2013 Elizabeth Spencer Syrah with a wine price of 15,00 € per 750 ml bottle.

In this wine auction the 2016th vintage was most wanted. With a total of 147 bottles or 8,35 % he achieved the first rank. In the 750 ml bootle size 93,86 % or 1.652 bottles changed hands. 3th units, were most traded.

The vintage 2012 set the second most trading points. 147 bottles from this vintage changed the owner. The trading volume one set the second most trading volume.

The bottle size 1.500 ml was 63 times traded in bottles. The vintage 2015 achieved the third most tradingpoints. 144 bottles from this vintage were sold. The tradingvolume two reached the third rank in this auction. 43 bottles from the bottle size 375 ml were auctioned.

Highest Wine Values in this Wine Auction

One bottle Domaine de la Romanee Conti - La Tache vintage 1995 in a 750 ml wine bottle got a new owner for 4.621,00 € per bottle. Thereby this wine, coming from the wine region of Burgundy, achieved the highest price in the wine auction.

The second place in the topic of wine maximum prices, comes from Burgundy. One bottle Domaine de la Romanee Conti Romanee St Vivant Vintage 2018 in a 750 ml bottle.

The hammer fell for 3.095,00 € per bottle.

Third rank to the topic wine prices is the Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon from the vintage 2019. This wine reached a value of 3.057,00 € for the 750 ml bottle.
