Record prices were once again achieved at the annual and world-famous wine auction in Burgundy - At the Hospice in Beaune, France.
The wine auction, which takes place annually on the third Sunday of November, has doubled in sales compared to 2018, with €29 million.
The so-called " President's Piece" a 228 litre barrel was sold for €810,000, breaking last year's record (€800,000) once again.
The record proceeds of the President's Piece will again go to two children's charities this year.
The rest of the auction featured the famous wines of the Hospice de Beaune, which were considered exceptional. There were an exceptional number of wines up for auction this year thanks to a bountiful harvest
